So, I'm kind of in music heaven right now and wanted to share some stuff and see what everyone else is rocking out to.

I'm completely addicted to Bon Iver right now, and his set at SXSW is currently on repeat, I can't wait to see him in a couple weeks!

Also in my rotation is Cat Power, specifically Ramblin' (Wo)man.

And stealing my musical heart for about 6 months straight now, OFFICE

And now for my favorite, Twin Cities music:

The new Cloud Cult album is fantastic. I've also been listening to Dan Wilson's solo album a lot. I was lucky enough to see him last week when he made an appearance at JoAnna James' farewell show. (She's heading to LA, so if you live there you should ABSOLUTELY check her out). Ed Ackerson's solo album is also making appearances on my playlist. I love Flashes of Light. Chris Koza is releases his 3rd album in a few months and I've been lucky enough to hear some of the new songs; they're golden.

Ok, you're turn! I am completely in love with the Twin Cities music scene and know that there are other incredible music cities out there with hidden talent, so do tell!

And because we shouldn't have a post without photos, some shots from JoAnna's Farewell Show (the whole set can be found on our blog)

Oh, ok. We actually did both photo and audio, thank you very much.

I wish, shoot! hah. Every year I say that I'm going to go and every year I seem to misplace that pile o' money that it would cost for the trip. Next year?

Awesome shots from the show. Lately, I have to say I've been listening to Stephen Malkmus a heck of a lot (pumping up for his show in Philly this weekend)! Some Vampire Weekend and Lupe Fiasco are rounding it out.

I will have to check out some of your links! thanks!

I took a Cat Power break to check out Stephen Malkmus. I'll definitely have to listen some more, he's very Doors-y.

Matt Santos is actually from the Twin Cities, and he's the rapper on 'Superstar' by Lupe Fiasco. We were singing Superstar before the Foo Fighters show. hah. You should check out Dessa, too!

LOL! Stephen Malkmus takes some getting use to. My husband and I were TREMENDOUS Pavement fans back in the day, so seeing him play this weekend is a little trip down memory lane.

I will certainly be tuning in to some of your recs soon! Thanks so much!

Hmm, let's see, right now I've got Shiny Toy Guns on repeat (inspired by the Costa's platform at WPPI) with some Queen and the newest Foo Fighters mixed in. Pretty eclectic mix, eh?
kimberlyhurst
Eclectic but AWESOME!

I forgot to mention a couple.

Sia's new album is infectious, and Fat Freddy's Drop has been on rotation, as well...

Cloud Cult struck a nerve for me. I instantly bought Feel Good Ghosts, and The Meaning of 8. I'm looking forward to checking out the rest of your links too.

Here are a few for you, hope I can return the favor.
Sepiatone- In Sepiatone
Annie Lennox-Songs of Mass Destruction
Robert Plant & Alison Krauss "Raising Sand" especially "Fortune Teller" Can't seem to ever get enough Robert Plant though. "Fate of Nations" is really good too.

You should read the backstory on Cloud Cult. It's very moving and inspiring and really gives their music a whole new emotion.

Thanks for the recommendations, I've never heard Sepiatone! I've got a special part of my heart for blues, too. SRV made me fall head over heels in love with music when I was 8 years old.

This is Bon Iver week for me here in MN, so I had to post a couple videos. I saw him on Saturday and Sunday night in St. Paul and I'm heading to Duluth tonight to see them as well. I was a DeYarmond Edison fan, but this is the first time I've seen him perform as "Bon Iver" and I'm totally in love. Photos soon.

Paul Freeman (or Freeman as he's going to be known as) is one of the best artists I've ever heard! He's been signed to Arista records with Clive Davis as his manager and has been recording his album for the past year. They're just biding their time for the right moment to release his debut album. I've seen him sing live a few times now and was fortunate to catch him at the Hotel Cafe while we were in LA last month. The guy has talent & charisma like you wouldn't believe but is so down to earth & friendly. You can hear some of his songs on his myspace page.... DEFINTELY well worth a listen to & I'd love to know what you think!

I'm on an LCD Soundsystem kick. And yes, I'm too lazy to post a link.

Sound of Silver is the album... great stuff.
