Hi Everyone, For those of you who print their own album pages and mount them into a self stick page, which printer would you recommend. I was thinking along the lines of maybe the Canon Pixma Pro 9500 or Epson R2400.
Also, do you use a spray protectant like Print Shield or Preserve it? Which would you recommend.

Thanks!

I do not print my own just because of the coating issue. I tried spray sealants and lacquers when I had my own RA lab. It was always a mess and VERY easy to ruin a print with uneven spray or dust.

I think that either printer would work but something like the Epson 4800 would be better. Epson's K3 inkset would be my preference.

Rather than listening to the printer mgf's I went around and spoke with reps at each of the paper companies at WPPI about doing my albums myself. Most everyone recomended going with the Epson, most agreed on the 3880 as it can switch between gloss and matt paper with no ink loss, can print plent big enough for albums, has easy to use software. The 4880 was next most recomended though the black ink switching is a pain and costs about $50 per switch. I was personally leaning toward the Canon's but after comparing print quality (there was no difference) I think if I do it I will go with the Epson.
Haven't done it yet so I can give more than my experience.
