i have finally imported and keyworded most of my images. wow, is it ever so much easier to find what i am looking for.

anyway, i have a few images that i want to get over to whcc for some printing. ive done my adjustments in lightroom ... now what?

in the old days (last week) it was ...

1. capture in camera
2. move images from card to mac
3. backup/sort and select best using bridge
4. open selections in photoshop - make adjustments as needed
5. save adjustments as a 'copy' @ 300dpi level 10 jpg.
6. open ROES
7. browse to image, select size, etc.
8. place order, upload that image
9. done

that left me with images all over the place. orginals on the backup, selections on my hard drive, and copies of selections in copy folders in sub directories, to no end.

so, lightroom has already proven easier with finding them. now, how do i use it to make my life easier in getting my 20x30's ?

thanks,

tony g.

I'm fairly new to lightroom as well, but as far as I am aware you have to export the image (File->Export) since it does not actually exist until you do so. Lightroom is a non-destructive editor so it does not modify your existing files, it just stores the changes that you are making in a database.

Hi there, my workflow consists of:

1.) capture image
2.) upload onto two hard drives (one that I use, and one backup)
3.) import all into lightroom. Here is where I edit and tone. I use the stars to tell which ones are keepers and which I will not use. One star means that I will keep it, and five stars means it is good enough to use on my website/blog etc. After I pick which to use, I edit all of them.
4.) Export all the keepers in a subfolder called "toned"
5.) Open any that need to be retouched in photoshop and save over the toned version, so that all of your finals are in the same place.

My system isn't perfect, but it works for me!! Hope this helps.
