Should I upgrade? Is the ability to time the transitions worth the extra $$?

I like the custom timing abilities..
The ability to time the slides to various music is cool, and allows me to set a mood with my images/transitions rather then just have background music.

I think so.
For me, it makes a huge difference to be able to mix up and vary the timings.
I never had the lite version so I don't know if there are any other differences that would be worthwhile.

ShowIt Web is an AMAZING program. All the shows on my site are made with it, and the pro version gives that much more control. I hear about a lot of tools on PPS, but ShowIt is the best I've seen hands down. Go Pro

SIW without the ability to custom time slide transition is just another slide show program that happens to output to flash. So, yes, for me, that feature alone is what makes SIW worth it.

If the ability to record your own timing to songs is the difference between Pro and Lite, than Pro is TOTALLY worth the extra cost. I honestly don't know of any other slideshow app that allows you to create a timing template the way the ShowIt Web Pro does.
While I do wish some of the controls were polished a bit more (such as the transition customizations), and even though there is no option to output to a .mov file, I am 100% glad I purchased it. I had clients and their friends tell me that the thing they loved most was how it all went with the music (speaking to the timed transitions based on the song).
Check out this post
here. Scroll to the end and watch the slideshow (not even 3 minutes) to see what I mean. Awesome app!

the only program that comes close to being as cool as showit is soundslides. but the lack of custom timing was a deal breaker for me with soundslides. showitpro remains the gold standard in my book

Thanks guys.
Do you find yourself spending more time on it since you have to adjust the timing?

yes-go pro
yes-a little more time is spent with having more customizable options-
but you don't have to use it every time if you don't want/need to
