So I am planning on leaving Pictage. I have had no problems with their service, but I just can not afford the monthly fee.

What happens with the images that I have already uploaded to them? Do they continue to sell to my couples after I have canceled my account? And if they do, do I still receive profits from the sales? Or do they keep all of it?

amen to that!

but if you do leave the images online, you will still get a cut of the sales (especially if they reactive them for the holidays).

I had to threaten copyright infringement to get them to remove mine - and I only was a member for 3 months!

They will keep re-posting, and re-releasing them hassling your clients for more and more sales, so be careful...

They might also continue to charge you the monthly fee. I left Pictage 3 months ago and am still getting billed.....................

Just delete your events before cancelling, right? Wouldn't that take care of them continuing to use your images?

Took me about 5 months to get them to stop hitting my card. After lots of phone calls and e-mails to what seemed like a different person each time I called in, they credited me 2 of the 5 months...but there was a big order during one of the months after I cancelled which murkied things up a bit and I just decided it wasn't worth continuing to pursue getting the other fees credited back to me so I wrote off the expense to a "vendor learning experience" account.

I'd consider going back to them if they dumped the monthly fee thing. They should have a pay as you go option. But I think that monthly fee thing is working out quite well for our friends at Pictage so I doubt they'll ditch the fee.

BTW -- [b] -- you're new avatar makes you look like a hockey player. smile.gif And I love what you've been doing with the [b] school. Give Keatsie a kiss for me, will ya? wub.gif

laughing.gif I know you shouldn't have to.....but I can't believe they are still charging you
5 months later....that is crazy.....they charged me for 1 extra month and that was it....
I didn't even use them for anything...I never uploaded an event......it was too
hard to figure everything out.....it was not user friendly at all.......that's why I switched to
Collages........

Leaving with no events active is definitely the way to go. In addition, ensure your campaign preferences have all the check-boxes UNCHECKED. That should basically keep your events from being re-activated during the Holidays.

As far as being billed monthly after canceling... that's REALLY bad. After politely reminding them you've canceled, I'd also refute the charge with the credit card company so you're not on the hook to pay it. And the credit card company will likely hit Pictage with a charge-back fee each time you refute the charge (i.e., monthly if they continue)... so they'll eventually get the message.

Another happy PickPic user since mid-2007, and I wouldn't have it any other way!!! thumbsup.gif

Best of luck,
David

I, like you, left not because anything was wrong but just could not afford it. My model is not selling online but just to show them online. so the $99 a month was a hefty price just for that. I now use Photocart and I am very happy with it (New version coming up soon. I got to see it and it will be rad.)

I just erased them. That is what I did. Not because of any fear, but just because I didn't want to leave anything behind plus they can use the space anyway.

I didn't get charged after I left not I did have to "fight" to get out like some say they did. Of course they offer me some goddies to stay but I thank them and left.
