I just wanted to make a quick post about a site I've been working on. It is similar to GaCoastWeddings.com, but for the entire US.
It is TheWeddingResource.org. Right now, I'd call it in "beta" phase. It isn't quite finished yet, but you are more than welcome to start submitting weddings & engagement sessions.
Ok, what it is:
A fluff-free, ad-free, not-for-profit bridal resource website
Basically, anyone can submit their wedding or engagement session. You can include as much information with links as possible - such as the location, the reception site, the ceremony site, the different wedding professionals/vendors involved, etc. Of course, if you don't know / there wasn't one - just leave it blank.
You can copy/paste in your showit embed code to show on the site as well as include URL links to photographs to have them show up on the site.
Overall, it is pretty good.
How posting to TheWeddingResource.org benefits you:
- Exposure
- Link-backs to your website (increases search engine ranking)
- Warm-fuzzies from the other vendors for putting their info on there
- Helps brides find quick information with exactly what they need to know
Small note: I say it is in the beta phase due to us not having a logo yet and the submission form still being tweaked. It works 100% perfectly, but I'm working on making the submission form a bit easier to fill out (especially when it comes to the showit code - soon all I will need are the dimensions & url rather than the entire embed code).
Anyway, I just wanted to start getting the word out about it.

Oh, and yep, it is 100% non-profit. We'll never charge a dime for someone to post or be listed on it nor will we ever make a dime from it. I have it pretty automated so it doesn't take up too much time - at the moment, all I have to do is just check to make sure it is a real post and then hit publish.
