Full Version: i lost my iphone today :(

when i was leaving from my shoot this morning i reached for my keys in my shootsac and noticed (lump in my throat) a void.

i lost my beloved iphone.

sad, and sick to my stomach gone. retraced my steps- even tried to call it (my clients were sooooooooooo nice in trying to track it down with me)

glimmer of hope perhaps that some honest person would answer and return. but no such luck. I hate losing things and it's rare if I do lose something.... especially $400 dollar things. but all my info was synced last night so i didn't suffer salt to the wound. just the loss of a (very cool) material object that can be replaced.

so besides my whiney sob story--
if "lucky joe who is going to totally have bad karma" finds and keeps my phone can he do anything with it??
i've already had it deactivated- since it's been a considerable amount of time with no response. my home # says "home" so that is a clear way to get a hold of me.
they can't charge, or listen to it via headphones unless they purchase accessories... can att change out the sim? it should seem obvious that they sim is getting changed, the serial isn't them, as well as the person would have to add the iphone service.
and what about itunes? don't then need the serial for that??

and fwiw... i have found numerous cell phones (not sure if that's the norm or if i attract such random scenarios) but I have ALWAYS found the super grateful owner... and it wasn't *that* hard!!!

Don't really know the answers to your Q but just wanted to sympathize with you, that is a bummer. Before hubby got me the iPhone this past Christmas I didn't think I really "needed" it even though I love everything mac. Now it's hard to see doing without it. It will turn up... 51.gif maybe no one has come across it yet.

Wow. My deepest apologies! While I don't have an i-phone, I do have an i-robot roomba(his name is Mr. B), and I know if he were lost, I would be heart-broken. So I can definitely empathize with you.

lol... that made me smile.
though i now have to replace the phone...

with 2 snack happy kiddos- i would SO LOVE an i-robot on each floor!!!

thanks for feeling sorry for me!

okay, if any others have want to feel sorry for me-- go ahead!
but if any body can think of anything else I need to do besides deactivate my account and change all my passwords I would LOVE any info or insight!

No one *should* be able to use it so long as ATT deactivated the IMEI number, not just the cell number/SIM card.

I'm sorry about your loss.

Wow... The on;y reazon for them to keep it would be to use it as an iPod music player, or have access to the internet... maybe... But if they can get yopur personal info, tghey should be able to contact you... 20/20 (ABC) had a program on stolen iPods and were able to make Apple trace some iPods AFTER the show aired... maybe they can do that for you...
Did you locked the features on your iPhone?
I have an iPod Touch, and have the access blocked with a password... (my kids want to play with it all the time!!) But now that I think about it being lost, Im considering changing the wallpaper photo that I have on it, and replace it with the same photo, but add my phone number for contact info... That way, when they try to un lock it and it tells them that they entered the wrong password, maybe they would think about returning it to me...

Is the iPhone able to sync to your computer like the Touch?

Good luck!

Unfortunately they can charge it with any USB cord and any computer sad.gif. Hopefully it will turn up. Do you have biz insurance that will cover this? Also, did you know your homeowners or renters insurance might cover it also? It's worth a shot!

i am calling them tomorrow since it is sunday...

i dunno about the usb cord?? the charger is a different size than my ipods... and the ear phones plug is longer and narrower then the reg.

Sure I know these can all be purchased- and too bad for that poor sucker that I have a hideous taste in music wink.gif
