Hi All,
I am looking for a way to improve my workflow with senior portraits. Currently, I offer boardered 4x6 proofs in some of my packages. Problem is, I am doing it all by hand and it takes forever. Does anyone know of any mac software that is available to speed up the process? I would like to be able to design some of the aspects of the boarder.
I would love some input

I have two questions -
What does the border look like? (Is it just the border or are you adding logos, etc.)
What program are you using at the moment?

do you use Aperture?

Depending on who you use for proofing, it may already be there for you. WHCC has bordered 4x6 proofs, and many places allow you to create a "template" in their ROES system.
I made a photoshop action that puts the image on a 5x7 with a 1/2" border, and my logo in the bottom right corner. Not too tricky if you're familiar with layers, you could do the same with 4x6s.
Faststone (http://www.faststone.org) has a free program that can do this if you run windows.
Hope this helps!

Get Kevin Kubota action set that make 4x6 bordered prints.....I batch a whole folder of pics to 4x6's with borders in just a few minutes....the action just runs through the whole folder, of course I have a camera battery on my key board to hold down the "enter" key so I can walk away and let the computer do all the work......
It's in his Artistic Actions Vol ll
Hope that helps

Chances are it's asking you for the save quality (your enter key trick). Here's how to fix it:
Option 1: Add a "Save As" step to the action. When you hit "File->Automate->Batch" make sure you check the "override save as " box.
Option 2: Rather than File->automate->batch, go to "File->scripts->image processor". It lets you choose your quality once, and you're done.
FWIW, here's an example of what faststone can do:

WHCC's ROES has boarder options built in. all you do is upload your standard image files and select which width of boarder you want.... its that easy!
