Full Version: Leaving the silent corner. My introduction after 1 year on OSP

George Natis
Hello to all OSP members,

it has been 1 year approximately since I stumbled upon this nice place. I never found the time to make my introductory post as I had a little more to say than a "hello" and thank everyone making it such a nice place to come back every day.

So who am I:
My name is George Natis and I live in Germany near the well known city Frankfurt/Main. My origin is greek and I grew up here. Meanwhile I am 33 years old and happily married.
At the time being I earn my living by making proposals for a german telephone company.

Being creative was always something which has been there in my inner soul since I was a little kid. In the recent years I was trying to take a step into producing dancemusic which I abandoned in 2004 when I discovered my love for photography.

2006 was the year when I had to shoot my brotherīs wedding. As a first time shooter I wanted to do everything correctly. Researching all the places about shooting weddings I got redirected to this forum from a post on fredmiranda where a discussion about before/after pictures was going on. Immediately I got "stuck" in here as there were so many interesting discussions to read and absolutely stunning pictures to watch. I have to mention that it took me a while to understand that I was watching OSPs archives at this point of stage wub.gif
I did the wedding and it went ok (my brother still talks to me *g* ), but since then I knew this type of photopgraphy is what I want to do in the future also growing up a business and maybe make a living out of it one day.
Capturing those sweetest moments and the feelings throughout a day was so nice and enriching that I could not think of anything else as I am a very sensitive emotional person. It did not happen only once that I cried tears during the ceremony wub.gif

Through referrals from my co-workers and friends I booked 4 more weddings doing 2 of them completely on my own. Without OSP it would have been impossible for me to have them professionally handled. Yet still with my growing knowledge and practice I enjoy every future wedding even more.

OSP changed my live in terms of music taste. I never listened to Nicole Nordemann or Frou Frou ..etc laugh.gif Also I got know how to handle my worfklow, post processing and general business because of all YOU nice people. wub.gif

The only thing which annoys me is that I cannot participate in any outstanding workshop which takes place here and there in your country (distance&money). I feel like Germany in general is still way behind in terms of wedding photography. The few well advanced photogs unfortunately do not offer any workshops.

Ok before I sound like an actor at the oscar awards, at last I would like to say a special thank you to my biggest inspirations DJ, Becker, Jessica Claire, Amorphia, Boutwells, Tricoast and Garret Nudd and and ....uh so many that I might have forgotten the one or the other.

Follow up I post my best of pictures since I started in 2006:

Welcome George. I'm glad you finally introduced yourself. This is a great place and has helped so many.

I'm not seeing any of your photos, only red x's. Is it only me?

Welcome, George! We're so glad to have you here!

And thanks for sharing how OSP has helped and inspired you over the last year. I know for myself that OSP will be a big part of my learning experience as I set out to establish my own business - and certainly a big part of my success as I do it.

By the looks of your photos it looks like you're on the right track. Keep up the good work and I'll look forward to seeing you around the forums!

EDIT: Hey, I'm a "Knowledge Cat" now! I'm not sure what kind of knowledge we're talking about, but I still like the way that sounds! :-)
