5 Things I really must do before I breathe my last (Lord willing, of course) . . .
  1. Mountain Bike the western continental divide from Canada to Mexico. Some buddies are starting this year in Montana, but I can't go. sad.gif They're doing it 10 days at a time over the course of 8 years.
  2. Kiss one great-grandchild on the cheek.
  3. Pay my respects to the graves of C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and George MacDonald.
  4. Finish my novel - "The Lost Cove".
  5. Ride a motorcycle by myself.
    (6) Smoke a pipe.
Let's have your list . . .

Elena
Is this your bucket list? Must it be only 5?

Here are mine:
1. Have at least one child (I am planning on more, of course).
2. Travel the world with my husband.
3. Make a million dollars in one year.
4. Fulfill my mother's dreams before she dies (take her on a cruise, etc... spoil her)
5. Write a book.

And there is so much more.

Elena

Hope
1. Buy my dream house in the mountains somewhere.
2. An extended trip to Europe.
3. Document *my* life (not just other peoples') and leave behind albums and journals for others.

Art& Soul

1. Have children with my husband and see them have their children

2. Travel to at least 10 places on my list (I have been making a list of places to go since I was in high school and my husband and I add to it all the time- I know that life can get in the way, but I'd like to see at least 10 of them)

3. Go skydiving

4. Climb Mt. Sopris- easy goal, it's here in my valley, but last time we tried, I got really sick on the mountain, we had to come down and my husband and I just haven't been able to make it work to try again

5. Speak at WPPI- I guess that is the mark for me to know that I have made it an am so succesful that others would actually be inspired by me.

Greg, the Appalachian Trail is just about ten minutes from my house. You can stay here at my "hostel".
A&S, if you can climb Mt. Sopris, you should be able to live long enough to see great-grandchildren.
Mark, I may have to add Route 66 to my list. Good one.
Knockie, so a motorcycle and a harley are two different things? I know what you mean.
Jebb, what do you play (rock show)?
Hope, your dream house is in Shady Valley, Tennessee. I'll show you where it is sometime.
Elena, what kind of book?

I play bass. Was in a band in college (Love Apple) and then two others after college (The Ectomorphs & The Ivy League). I have a serious love/hate relationship with playing in bands.

Not sure if I want to spill the beans yet, feel too personal about it, but my life is full of events, and I am still young, so many more are to come, but here are a few: I am a first generation immigrant, grew up as a Christian in a communist country, came to America speaking "O" (yep, zip, zero) english, went to 2 colleges, married a great man, who had undergone three brain surgeries while we were dating (I was his primary caregiver, while maintaining a full-time job; it took him over a year to get back to his normal self), etc., etc., etc. And if I made it this far, then anyone can.

I better stop my rant smile.gif

Eric, I'll definitely keep that in mind. I know where Johnson City is as I grew up not too far away from there in Weaverville.

Wow Tami - we're a little twin like. I've got three of your five. #4, it took me a butt-load of time to get to, but I think I'm pretty close.

I want to live in Paris
I want to live in Ethiopia
I want to see my boys grow up, graduate, find out who they are, get married (if they want) give me grandchildren (if they want, but there may be a little pressure there smile.gif ), and get old themselves (I plan on living for a long time.)
I want to write a successful book.
I want to be a motivational speaker, and encourage people to feel hope and act peacefully.

(wow, now that I started, my brain is really going. I haven't thought about this stuff for a long time.)

I got to introduce my twin boys to their Great-great-grandmother. That was awesome. She was a twin and mine are the first set in the family since her and her sister.

I want to meet my great great grandchildren.

tami - we can be neighbours smile.gif

I forgot;

I want to learn to surf. Agatha Christie learned at 35, so I figure I probably can too, even though I am hopelessly uncoordinated and my swimming skills suck a little.

I would learn to surf, but I'm really, really white (red hair) and I've heard that sharks think bright, shiny things flopping about in the water look tasty. And my hair probably looks like blood which makes them even more hungry.

Has anyone seen The Bucket List? Any good? I'm interested now that I started this topic. If you haven't seen The Ultimate Gift, it's a good one. Not exactly the same as this topic, but similar and good. It would remind us that some of the stuff on our lists are more important than others. Come to think of it, my list looks a bit selfish. A lot about me. Not much about those around me.
Eric McCarty
Now I'm mad at myself. In that last post I reminded myself of The Ultimate Gift and realized that my list was all about me. I'm changing it.

1. Kiss at least one great grandchild on the cheek. (That's still a good one. It means my kids are doing well.)
2. Cry my little eyes out at three daughters' weddings and not take the first stinking picture.
3. Make my wife swoon about 853 more times by doing something really romantic quite often.
4. Be my pastor's best friend.
5. Get to know my neighbors really, really well.

Aw, heck, I'm fired up now. Here's more . . .

6. Take pictures at one of my client's' child's weddings.
7. Bless the lives of everyone each of my businesses touches. (TLP and FellowTip and whatever else I get myself into.)
8. Give a heck of a lot of money to Thirst Relief.
9. Be a real friend to a friend who is going through a tough time--a really tough time.

That's better.

I saw The Bucket List; it was the inspiration for my list. I liked it a lot. It really makes you think about what's important in life.
