I spent my morning sitting in my basement listening to a tornado outside my house, trying to stay calm. I could hear the wind and the hail and what sounded like a freight train. My daughter & I sat in the shower for quite a while.

The tornado touched down not far from my house, still haven't heard about damage or anything. Half the crap from my neighbors yard was in my yard or on my roof, but we're alright.

Is everybody else okay? So many places were hit hard last night & this morning. I'm praying all our OSPers are safe!

i can't believe how high the death toll keeps rising too. first it was 11, now its 27, and possibly higher.i remember while living in memphis a horrible tornado that hit West Memphis, ARkansas and parts of memphis. it was bad, really really bad, this was back in 1988. 18 wheelers were actually in trees......

Just heard the death toll at 47 about 15 mins ago. Glad to hear you are ok. Nothing life threatening for us, but in my area near Chicago we have a snow storm advisory and about 12 inches of snow are expected to fall between last night and 6pm today.

Glad you are ok! Our line of thunderstorms is just now starting to arrive.

Ours are supposed to start coming around noon.

I'm a complete wuss when it comes to storms. Don't ask me why- just am lol.
And now that I've finally gotten used to thunderstorms, with this funky weather lately, now I'm having to deal with more tornadoes than I've ever imagined.

So I'm hoping it's just bad "thunderstorms" and no tornadoes touch down around my house!

There was "tornadic activity" in the storms that passed about 15 miles from us... but no touchdowns that I know of. Everyone here is ok. Glad to know you guys are fine. Was Sam not home?

Oh wow... I haven't had the TV on and had no idea... glad ya'll are safe! I LOVE storms, but tornadoes scare the hell out of me.

48 dead so far in AR, KY, TN & AL... so sad.
