A few weeks ago, I was trying to design a VA guest signature book (turned out fabulous by the way) but I did have to spend some time on the phone with Jim- because my guides were not showing up ( and YES I did have show guides and smart guides checked) but- I could never get them to show up- neither could Jim at Vision Art- so he just told me the guideline measurements.

Then tonight- I am trying to use WHCC templates for a few different press-printed products, and I am having the exact same problem.


I also noticed that when I use my crop tool, it defaults to pixels not inches.....I have been searching around, trying to figure these things out- but thought I would ask all the smart os groupies.

Have you looked in the Prefs? I believe there is a place to set pixels or inches as default.

Me too I am very curious why the guides are not showing.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Ok- I have changed the preferences for the pixels/inches- I must have overlooked it last time.....but I am still baffled as to why the pre-set guidelines are not showing up on templates. If I add guidelines- I can see them.

So if anyone can suggest something to try- I would be forever grateful

In case anyone wants to know- I just found out the issue with the guides. Under preferences, it was checked to open jpeg files with adobe raw/ then PS3....so somehow the guides were getting lost.
