Just curious to know how much longer that option will be available, but that might not be information they have out publicly.

Looks like June 30 is the cutoff date for preinstalled xp. From what I've seen, downgrading from vista can be a pain if there are certain drivers available, so if I can't get an xp ready system in time, then I will definitely covert to Mac.

Thats what we did Phil, went to Mac. My understanding was you would not be able to get a system shipped with XP after first of this year (but maybe thats changed) and when stock runs out on "shelf copies" then thats it.

I guess another alternative is to buy refurbished Dell's with XP already on them. Those will be around for awhile and come with a warranty.
