In the brushes pallettte, click on Brush Tip Shape. Near the center, there is a box labeled Angle. Change this value to rotate the brush.

If you have a scroll mouse, you can click the angle box and use the scroll wheel to see the brush turn so you don't have to guess at the angle you want. Also you can click the flip x and flip y boxes to change it for corners.

How are you getting this box to pop up? I can't find how you are getting there.

Jill, if you are a PC user, press F5, choose your brush and you should see this window.

Ahhhh...perfect. Thanks so much everyone! :)Well...I thought I had it. I found the box - but I don't have everything that you showed. I don't have the angle box. I have this...What am I doing wrong?

You have to click on the words "Brush Tip Shape".

AHhhhh! Thanks so much for hanging in there with me and explaining things! I tried searching the internet before posting here but couldn't find how to do it. I really appreciate your help!

Another option, which is the way I do it, is that I apply my brushes on a separate layer and then I use Free Transform to rotate them (but not resize them). That way it's easy for me to see what the brush is going to look like "in real time" and in the location I want it. Another reason is that this gives me the flexibility to copy the layer and quickly do a Flip Vertical/Flip Horizontal and a perfect symmetry if that is what I am going for, rather than "guesstimating" the next brush. I flatten the file before sending it to print anyway, so this work for me really well.

Jill,
I can come out of the "lack of knowledge" closet now. I've always wondered how to do this but could never figure it out. Thanks for asking. thumbsup.gif

Ooo I was wondering too!

This is kind of like that thing they tell you in school about not being afraid to ask questions because 10 other people are probably wondering the same thing. lol
