New to forum in last few days. My name is Mickey, I am from a small town in North Mississippi. I work full-time as an Assistant District Attorney. I bought my first camera (20D) three years ago off of a single sports job for a friends. I shoot portraits and just started in weddings this year.

The forum looks awesome!

Hi, Mickey, and welcome to OSP!

I'm curious to know what got you into shooting, especially weddings. I assume you have a pretty satisfying career, and weddings can be quite the adventure (as well as a significant investment in time and energy). Just curious to know more about your photography venture!

Best wishes!!

I wish I had known about OSP years ago!

You should look up Will Jacks... he's near you I think, and I think his wife is an attorney. You guys might have a lot in common... and Will's an awesome fellow!

I love my career, and yes it is very fulfilling. I actually have a friend from highscool who has a huge sports photography business and he sometimes shoots stuff near here. He invited me to just come and hang out...i did and fooled around shooting and loved it...i bought a 20D...decided photography was a good hobby I could always have at any age...loved it...and just grew it out from there. I have always loved portrait work because I think you can really capture someone's personality. Weddings intrigue me because of the raw emotions involved and the stories you can convey in the pictures...awesome!!!!
