Found this at:
http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?threadid=735874WELCOME TO DELL HELL
The 2TB version from Dell is $969.99. And the 1TB version is $399.99 from Dell
So the 1.5TB version probably missing the first digit. So instead of $567.99/667.99/etc, they price it at $67.99
PLEASE DO NOT CALL DELL TO ASK ABOUT THIS ORDER.
------------------------------------------
^ They are not going to accidentally send out 5000 1.5 tb harddrives. Still, probably not that great idea to call... but if you have let us know what you found out.
If you receive a legitimate cancellation or other important order status update (WITH PROOF) please post it here on the wikipost, as this thread has become a monster.
-------------------------------------------------
Once the cancellation notices start, this wikipost will be revised to reflect it, along with the cancellation email.
Please refrain from copy and pasting your identical cancellation notices in the forum. Thank you.
Because I keep seeing the same posts over and over and over again, as a service, I will summarize this thread (and the ones on other boards which I have just been browsing):
1. As of the time of this post (about 30 hours after the deal), Dell has not canceled the orders.
2. As of this post, nobody has has their HDs shipped. Although people have claimed this, there is no evidence.
3. We still do not definitively know whether this was a pricing error, though it seems to be the most likely thing. Though, many speculate it as unadvertised super-bowl sale.
4. Yes, everybody's order says the item is "in production"
5. Yes, everybody's order is supposed to ship (today) on 2/5/08
6. Does 1-day shipping mean you are more likely to get yours? Some people say yes, some people say no... nobody can say for sure.
7. The eBay/craigslist sellers probably don't have the HDs, and are just betting on the fact that they'll get them.
Hope this helps the people who don't want to have to sort through 180+ pages.
