Getting my images from Lightroom out on my blog is pretty much a pain. Surely there is an easier way than:

- export out of light room
- in wordpress create a new article
- upload each picture into the article
- save

The upload each picture seems a pain.

Are there any silver bullets on getting images out to a blog from lightroom?

Not that I know of. I usually add another step in your workflow listed above where I run a script through Bridge to add a border, my logo, etc. so it can be a pain but I think that is the only way at this point.

With the advent of the ability to program export scripts in Lightroom (like the one for flickr) I am hoping that there is one will be created to publish directly to a photoblog. I am not giving up in my quest! thumbsup.gif

picturesync looks cool -- but it doesn't support wordpress. huh.gif

Why don't you just export the images, properly sized for your blog, from lightroom, naming them something simple like 01.jpg, 02.jpg, etc.

Then just make some HTML code for displaying the image, and repeat a bunch in your blog post, and then just go back through and change just the number for each image.

This is kind of what I do, except I get geeky and use an Excel template in which I just input the url directory (ie http://website.com/funwedding/) and then excel makes a bunch of code, incrementing by one digit each time. Then I just copy and paste up to how many images I'd like on the blog. It takes about 10 seconds smile.gif

Jim, here is what I do and hope it helps.

Export images from LR (Bridge + ACR) at whatever resolution and dump on a folder called Blog.
Take folder and ftp it to my server.
From Wordpress use the Plugin to create a slideshow (simple fade out/fade in)
Make blog post and use button in interface to insert the slideshow.

The plugin name is MyFlash

You can check my site for an example of how it works. FWIW, I like the option in LR Web module to have the images as a simple slideshow where the images scroll from right to left (or clickable), however, I don't know if there is a way to be able to embed that into a WP post. If it is, that would be sweet...I think.

Thanks, Ramiro, for posting that! I love that! I will have to give that a try!

Shoot, I just checked it out and didn't see the download for it anymore. I also saw where there might have been a security issue with it. It makes me wonder if I found something similar if there would be security issues with it, too.

Tammy, are you talking about the download for My Flash? If so, let me know and I can zip the folder with it and send it to you.

I'm newly sick of all the time I'm spending on the wordpress interface and I'm trying out

I'll let you know how it goes!

Jim, you can set up LR to upload a basic HTML gallery to your webserver via FTP. From there, just reference the images and embed them in your blog. smile.gif

Along these lines, does anyone know if there's a batch image uploader that works with Wordpress 2.6+? I used to have one that worked great, gave me the img src address that I just copied and pasted into my posts... but since 2.6 it doesn't work anymore sad.gif
