I'm working on building my walls for my upcoming bridal show, and I absolutely love the finished look that crown moulding brigs to the walls.

My question for all who have done it is, when do you attach the moulding? And do you attach one long one, or do you break it down for each wall section? Also, if you attach it when you get there, do you take it back down after the show is over? How do you do that?

Thanks!

(Clearly, I have NEVER worked with crown moulding before! rolleyes.gif )

I attach the crown and base trim at the show in one long piece, and take it down after. It is pretty easy... just attach with screws and unscrew at the end, takes MAYBE 10 minutes.

Awesome, thanks!

I was worried about taking it down afterwards, but, duh...of course...screws!!

(In my mind, I HAD to use nails. I don't know why that one thought got stuck there).

Thanks again!

We built ours in such a way that each door had crown moulding at the top (there were 3 panels), and a chair rail moulding across the middle. We also used white beadboard along the bottom to really finish the look!

Then (best idea ever), we installed sheets of metal on the top half creating a magnetic surface! We painted over the metal...that allowed us to use strips of magentic tape on the back of our prints so that hanging was a snap!

The moulding stayed on the doors permanently as did the chair rail moulding. The only assembly that we have on site is the door hinges. The three doors all connect together.
