I just promised one of my couples a wedding photography gift registry. The only promise is I don't know how to do it. I offer this to them as a way that they could afford me. Now I am wondering how everyone else does this. They want me to set up a way that their guests can help purchase their image disc, being that it is going to cost them $950 to purchase the disc I need a way that will let multiple people "go in" on the disc together.

How do you guys do your photo registries.

Is there a website that does this? What is the fee for such a website?

How hard would it be to setup a similar site by myself?

Any help.

Thanks guys

I just set one up today with Photocart.

Who do you use for your cart/fulfillment? Do they have one you can use?

Use paypal - super easy. You can set it up for free, and it's easy to make a paypal button for your couple that they can email to friends and family.

You can also post the paypal button on your own blog and tell your clients to give folks the url (that way you're directing their guests traffic to your site!)

To keep track of it, you can set up a different area of your paypal account, i think (though I've never done this so I don't know how it works!)

I get notifications emailed to me whenever someone pays me, so I just create a folder in my email called "bridesname and groomsname registry info" and throw the invoices in there, then total it up a week or two before the wedding and apply it to their invoice.

We use buildaregistry.com. Check it out and see if it would work as a solution for you.
