This weekend I'll be moving to a new Mac from a PC, and was looking for the best way to get the library moved over.

Phyically moving everything will be no issue, I have all the photos, library files and backups, as well as the lightroom previews on a FAT32 external drive, so copying onto the new Mac is easy.

The part that worries me is re linking the file paths from the PC way to the mac way.

I saw something that says that if lightroom can't find a file it will show a question mark and give you a chance to tell lightroom where the new files are, but is this a folder by folder thing?

I have all the raw images organized by Year/Month/Day, so will I just be able to do the re-linking at the year level and everything underneath will follow?

Has anyone ever done this before and know any best practices?
