I just completed a very interesting Adobe survey and there were a couple of things that stood out that I thought some of you may be interested to hear about.

Firstly, they're thinking about putting a system into place where if you don't upgrade each time an upgrade for your product is released then when you do decide to upgrade you pay slightly more than someone who upgrades each time there is a new version. Almost like a "reward" for regular customers.

There was also mention of a possible yearly subscription whereby they would release something new for that product each year - either something substantial in the first year and a smaller upgrade the next or equal upgrades yearly. This would be instead of the usual 18-24 month upgrade and the yearly subscription fee would be approximately half the price of the usual cost for an upgrade.

It was a rumor that Microsoft was gonna try this too. A lot of people thought Vista would be subscription based. It didn't turn out to be that way though. Maybe this is a way for Adobe to discourage pirating.

Macromedia did this yearly subscription service before they got bought by Adobe - I guess Adobe is thinking about reoffering this... and including their products

Makes sense.. Id do it since I have alot of adobe software to keep current.
