Haha, I'm laughing AT you, I'm laughing WITH you. This drove me NUTS. Happened everytime I turned on my printer, opened iTunes and plugged in my iPhone too! My hubby fixed it one day. If you don't have an answer here soon, I'll ask him when he has time.
Grr.

it's one of the options. i am not at home right now, but i know it's an option. i hate it, and turn it off.

should be in one of the edit->preferences menus, it's a checkbox near the top. something about what to do when lightroom detects a memory card. might be ""Show import dialog when memory card is detected"

Yes.
Lightroom -> Preferences -> Import and then uncheck the box next to "Show import dialog when a memory card is detected"
That should do it.

On your systray is a lightroom icon. Right click, press "exit"

lol!
I'm with you!
It's like, "I'M IN YOU'RE FACE!I WANT YOU TO USE ME NOW!
THAT'S CLEARLY WHAT YOU WANT TO DO 24/7!!"
I didn't even think there'd be a way to fix it! Thanks
for asking this question!

My hubby just gave me the run-down for all you
Right-Clickas (sorry I don't have info for iBook-Flippas:
START
RUN
type "msconfig"
START UP
uncheck the box for "apdproxy"
OK
YES (if it asks anything)
reboot
If there's a dialog that warns you about some start-up programs that are manually set or changed (because you just did that) then say OK and click to "don't show me again" and you should be good to go.

On a Mac, you can open the Image Capture application. Under preferences, it says, "when a card is inserted open:" and then a drop-down. Select "no application."
