Found this super simple and super cheap way of using your Pocketwizard with your on camera flash.

Check it out!

Yeah, that is a sweet idea!

I have also seen this idea on Strobist web site and the One Light forum that Zack has...

Very cool!

Cool idea, I've been just using a velcro strap to attach it up on my flash but it definitely does stand out more that way.

Just to add to the video the threaded rod should e 20 thread per inch.

That's awesome! Thanks, Chris!

Yeah, velcro would work too, I'm always afraid of it falling off more, but that's for sure a good route as well.

Good call on the threaded rod!

The only reason I don't do it this way is because then you can't use the vertical grip. Does this bother anyone else?

Awesome! Thanks!

Sure you can.... there's a screw mount on the bottom of the vertical grips.

It's the same screw mount that you use for tripods.

Chris, I think he means that you can't use the vertical grip for shooting. From your video it looks like the PW antenna gets in the way of getting a decent grip for vertical oriented shots. Are you able to get around this?

Personally I don't use the PW, I use the Bowens Pulsars, and since they are low profile, I simply put it in my shirt pocket.

Ha! I had the same idea, but was wondering where to get those screws. Home Depot! Dah!

PS. The only problem would be to get those screws out, if they are stuck.

I just sent my pocket wizards to be repaired because they fell off. The plastice hot shoe broke on both of them. $53 each to fix a .10 piece.

I love the idea of doing it that way, but I shoot with the vertical grip probably 80% of the time. Looks like I will have to retrain the way I shoot.

Great idea... thanks for sharing it Chris...

Yea sorry, that is what I meant. I use the vertical grip for shooting all the time, but with a PW slapped on then there is no way to use the vertical grip for shooting. This is the only reason I don't mount mine this way...but if that does not bother you then this is definitely the best way!
