Oy vey! I am tiiiiiiiiiired!!
(Alisha - I could REALLY use that back-crack right about now!!!)

Shot another destination wedding today - only 5 hrs of driving tho this time (early this AM until late tonight).... they're from ALL over tho...

Feisty red-head Italian bride (fam came from Italy and some hardly spoke English) marries Brit Marine/Navy guy (some fam came from England - SUPER cool accents) at Southern plantation/golf course where PGA is held (aka: out in the boonies)...

Needless to say, I was REALLY wishing I was the videographer vs the photographer at this one - all the crazy accents and native dances (those crazy Italians KNOW how to party and the Brits sure do keep up!!) .... and then thow in a bunch of jokster Navy/Marine dudes (one of the funniest speeches I've ever heard)...and it's all chaos.

Oh, and this kinda stinks: I totally dropped my Canon and almost killed the glass - split my filter in two - before I even started (darn strap broke). Then someone ran by with table salt when I was changing my lens out on my backup and gave it a good dosing down its innards so now it's on it's way to the graveyard too. Glad this is the last big gig this year... my equipment is dying sad.gif

I'm too tired to think about shows now but here are a few pics until later...

Sorry to hear about the cameras. Tough day, get some rest! I'm beat too...gonna crash fo a spell

Oh...I know that feeling when the camera hits the ground!! Bummer. Actually had that happen with mine last wedding. Strap got snagged and pulled the camera out of my hand. Shattered my UV filter, and impacted the lens on my 50mm 1.4. No broken glass on it though, so it's in for possible repair. I definitely know that feeling!

Get some good sleep! The plantation looks beautiful! Can't wait to see more.

Too bad about the cameras, upgrade to something really cool, like a 1dsmk2 and a 1dmk2n as backup (then lift weights this winter) smile.gif . If a camera had to die I'm glad it went out in the funniest way that I've heard in a long time, salt in the body is funny.

Liana,

That's really crappy to hear about the camera and lens. Hopefully things work out. But as Brady alluded to, funniest equipment disaster story I've heard in a long time.

Your dropping the camera/salt story gave me a sick feeling just reading about it. I would have been freaking out. But as Brady said -- gives you an excuse for new equipment! I am always looking for excuses!

The venue looked awesome. I really like your fashion look in the 1st image. After what you showed me last weekend, I think I am going to incorporate some of that into my style.

The 1st image has me thinking. I wonder what it would have looked like if you would have used your gator light with a yellow gel and shot it on the back wall. I need to get one of those lights and try it.

Looking forward to the picture show...

Opps.... I guess I wasn't making sense when typing last night. The salt got in my LENS not the camera.... luckily I caught it before I dumped a pile of salt in my camera putting it back on.

...and it was a 70-200 SIGMA so not as big of a deal really. I did love that lens for daylight ceremonies tho:( It kept locking up during the ceremony so I had to be obnoxious instead and get in there with my 24-70. Time to go get a monster 70-200/2.8 canon..... (uh, those are SOOO heavy)....

and really, this equipment was a small small blip on the radar of a VERY long day...

Sorry to hear you had a rough one, Liana. But it does look like you got some great shots out of it! Sounds like a fun wedding too! I love some British accents!! smile.gif

Lovely photos ! I also dropped a camera a month ago. Cracked open the case and it won't power up.

Sent it back to Fuji, and just got my estimate back this week. It could have been a lot worse.... $186.00, and I've got a $100.00 deductible with the insurance.

Liana, you are amazing. You've got such an upbeat attitude about what is still a somewhat expensive lens, and you're cracking jokes about it too.

I think that is one of the most refreshing things I have found about hanging out here. The incredible images, and fun that you all have together doesn't hurt either.

Look forward to seeing your new glass in use soon.
