Is it worth the extra money??

I've had a 30D for about 7 months. I've used a 20D, 30D, 40D, 1D MK II, and a 5D. 5D has been my fav, 2nd is the 40D. One of the things I loved about the 40D is the huge 3" LCD screen; no more squinting to see if you got what you wanted.
IMO, definitely worth the extra $$, but many will say go for the glass, and even if you want the 5D, wait because it will be replaced soon.

FF, and easy to use. Can't wait to get one.

I love using the 30D, but so far I have been unable to replicate the clarity and depth of the images that I've seen from the 5D. This may be an experience thing (or lack of), but at a technical level the 5D has a much larger sensor, which means that it is technically capable of capturing better color.

I am DYING to get my hands on a 5D. I shot with one ONCE for a wedding as a second-shooter and loved that camera. smile.gif I'm planning on buying a used one within the next 4 months and I can't wait. I have the 30D and it's wonderful; but I will definitely be owning a 5D in the next 150 days!

For the biggest thing is FF. I learned to shoot on film, and the crop on dig cameras bothers me; on a longer lens I don't mind the extra length (like up to 320 f2.8 w/ the conversion with @ 200mm), but I just hate it the wide to medium range.
On a 5D, the lens is exactly what it is supposed to be. thumbsup.gif
Better noise reduction.
Better sensor.
= better pictures.

What lense would you suggest as your all time favorite?
