What advantages do you see for each company?
When we started our business, way back when we used a thing called film, we started off with Renissance. They were also the first company we used for a flush mount album. The only frustrating thing with them has been two issues, which aren't huge, just kinda of frustrating
. We have our album pages printed at our lab and we send it to them. Almost every order they seem to call and say that they need a reprint of some page that was damaged. I never have had this problem with Art Leather, not once. I use both companies alot. Also I never get any kind of notification from Reniassance, weather it's arrival, in production, or shipping. I get confirmations throughout the process with Art Leather. Their customer service has been great for us. They hammered out 4 albums for us after the Christmas deadline, and got them back in plenty of time for our customers for the holiday. The only thing that concerns me is that they filed for Chapter 11, and it has not affected us, and the products they deliver, it scares me, if one day they shut down, and I have albums in production.
Graphi Studio, has been so far nothing but perfect for us. I have designed my own, and I have had them design for us. The color correction and the product came within a quick time. Someone metioned the pink lines in the middle of the pages, that happens, and we knew it when we started offering them. Our clients love the look. I do want to offer some other albums, but I haven't decided what else I would like to offer. there are so many companies coming out, I just don't know how they are all going to make it, so i want to choose carefully.
I don't thing you can go wrong with any of the big companies, Art Leather, Leather Craftsman, Reniassance, Asuka, Graphi, etc. It's about finding the right fit, look, customer service and what you want to offer your clients. I see that almost all labs are offering albums these days. Which is not a bad idea, but most of those are offering very basic covers. Sorry for the ramble probably didn't help you too much at all, just my experience with the companies I use.
