This is from the book "The Greatest Salesman in the World" by OG Mandino. I just finished the book. When I read this portion of the book I thought about OSP and thought about how these paragraphs might bless someone on OSP.

If you have read the book, I would love your input. If you haven't read it, find a copy today. You are likely to find it at your local library or Amazon. I found it at my church library. I'm glad I did. This one book has the potential to change someone's entire outlook on how they view things. The lessons taught in the book have no experation date. The book is 40 years old!

So I would like your thoughts. What do you think about these paragraphs? Will you act now?

Thanks for posting that. I recently read a sales book from 1976. It changed how I think about sales. So many of the sales books today are geared towards "easy sales" or being successful in sales without actually working as a salesperson. The book I read (I think it was The Silva Sales Method or something) was about mindset to make your calls and make your sales. A lot of the mindset stuff seemed a little 70's spiritual/meditation etc...but the meat of the book was terrific.

One example that stuck with me was a top insurance salesman. He had no script, no technique but he was the top salesman in his region. How? Every day for six hours he pulled out the phone book and dialed numbers. When someone answered he said "You don't want to buy insurance do you?". He had a terrible conversion ratio but he talked to 300 people a week....which translated to a great number of sales.

I am going to try and find that book today.

Here's the thing. The title isn't really what the book is all about. It's really more about how to live your life and how to think. It basically talks about how if you follow these words and principles, the sales will come. It's really a wise choice to read this book.

I just wanted to add that Amazon.com has this book for 71 cents in it's paperback form! I just love buying used books from Amazon!

Someone handed me that book 10 years ago. It was an amazing read. I need to dust if off and do a refresher course. I need to bring it into the rotation of books that I re-read every so often to keep myself firing on all 8 cylinders.

Yea, I have to give this one back to the library, but I'm gonna get my own copy. The way it's written, with the scrolls listed as chapters. It makes it really easy to go back and read. You probably have to read it multiple times to really make the scrolls a habit.
