Full Version: HELP! Major deadline about to be missed...

Our clients are having a 2nd wedding reception this weekend. We figured there wouldn't be time to guarantee shipment of the DVD if they purchased it directly so we purchased the mp4 download, with the intent of burning it onto a DVD and hand delivering it to them before they get on the plane.

Now they're leaving town and we still haven't received a link to download the show. Did we do something wrong? I've looked through all our junk & deleted emails to make sure I didn't overlook a message from showit with instructions on downloading the file.

We're looking now at dropping all other tasks for the day and recreating the whole show in iPhoto... not cool. It's so disappointing that we probably won't be able to deliver the super cool showit show to them for their reception.

DJ can you help us???

Enna

This does't help with showit, but...

I use Ulead DVD Pictureshow to create dvd slideshows for my clients when they want a custom show. It is super fast and easy. You can't do custom timing, but it looks nice and it might help you out with your time crunch today. It takes just a few minutes to create a show.

It is only $39 for the download.

does it work on mac?

Someone else suggested some sort of patch software to export the showit show to something another popular slideshow software can work with. But we're not into purchasing new software for this task. The clients really just need a slideshow for their reception, so I think iPhoto will work. It's just a PITA to face dealing with this right now - I still haven't been Christmas shopping for my family and don't think I'll get a chance as we're so bogged down with little things like this.

I sent Showit support an email or two over a week ago regarding something else and they never responded. Love the software DJ, but we really need some help getting this done. All we want to do is download it. It's paid for.

I purchased a download and never could get it to work on my iPod or my client's. Gave up trying. I don't offer that option anymore.

I don't know if it works on mac.
I wish you were close by - I would make one for you.

Just to be clear, I am not looking for software recommendations - we're pretty familiar with the alternatives. I really want to download the Showit show! I posted here in hopes that someone may have been in a similar situation... I was kind of imagining there might be a place i can go on the showit site to find downloads I have purchased... apparently not.

So, hopefully Deej or someone else from Showit will see this and help us out...

Thanks,

Enna

Did you email DJ directly? Wait... I'm looking for the address... be right back...
Jules
Well, I can't find the one he sent me about my customer service issue, but you could try this one

or maybe even dj - at - davidjay.com

I'm making these up of course, except for the first one. Sorry I couldn't find the one he sent me. I went on an email cleaning rampage a few weeks ago and probably threw it out.

Have you try iDVD? You can make them a quick DVD with it for now and give them the one with Showit later.
I think iDVD is a lot faster than iPhoto. I think...

Thanks Todd - we got the link! Sorry to be such a PITA, but it was really frustrating to not know where to turn for answers.

Cheers!

I downloaded it, and dropped it into iTunes and iDVD and was done in about two minutes. Easy and it looks great. Thank Todd:)

Awesome - stoked it worked out! Always feel free to hitup our support team with any issues and Todd, Jason or Cassandra will get back to you. I'm usually not much help on the support side but if you submit at ticket and don't hear back within 48 hours let me know and I will see what's up. smile.gif

Did you order the iPod version or the full res version? If you ordered the full res you will probably need to downsize and properly compress it to work on an iPod because iPods have specific specs that must be followed in order for it to play but if you ordered the iPod version from us it should play without a hitch. smile.gif
