Hey guys,

Surely some of you are emusic subscribers. Care to share the lowdown? Thanks!

hey ginger,

here's the deal. they really do give you 30 free downloads, you just have to make sure you cancel before the month is out before they charge you. they also don't have a whole lot of "popular" music. most of it is indie and underground stuff. there are some really great artists on there, it may just take you a while to wade through them all. all in all, they are legit and won't charge you, just make sure you get the 30 free songs and cancel before a month is up, unless you want to stick with them.

I had an account for a few months then I canceled it about 6 months ago. They gave me a bunch of free downloads to restart my account last month. Now I'm back to the place where I have 11 downloads remaining and I can't find anything I want to download. I've spent a lot of time listening to the preview clips and it's all been wasted time.

My suggestion is to sign up and then cancel when you reach the point of hunting for music you like.
