I just ordered a D300 (again, I canceled my first preorder like a fool) and was wondering how well it works with Lightroom. Anyone have first hand experience?

It'll work fine with a D300 or D3 file. They actually released the update before the cameras even shipped in the US.

I have been using the demo version of lightroom with the d300 without flaw.

Trying to decide if I wanna go ligthroom or upgrade to cs3

I do and I hate the way LR handles noise from the Nikon cameras.
I think it makes the files look too granular - even at low ISO's.

It handled my Canons okay - but I always had better quality coming out of Phase One (Capture One) LE/Pro anyway - so I just need to get an update for that raw converter so I can use my D300 files.

BTW - I just downloaded the trial for LightZone (uses the zone system) and am totally impressed with the way you can manipulate RAW and Jpg files in it. I salvages highlights like crazy! Not only that, but at hi ISO's, the files remain super clean and detailed. More so than from any other converter I have used. It is a bit slow though...

All in all, LR is fine for most of my work - there are just a few things I don't like about it (sharpening/Noise control being the two major ones.)
