hello fellow canadians!! any of you receive the D3?? i pre-ordered mine through henry's and just wondering if any of you have received one or heard anything about a release.

i have a big shoot mid-december and really want my D3..

I've read that in Canada all pre-order customers are being asked to fill out basically "why I should get my D3" forms asking if you're a professional shooter or not (source of income, etc. etc.). Has your store told you about that?

yes, i did fill out some nikon paperwork at my local camera store last week. i'm just curious to see how many others out there are still waiting or if they heard anything. my camera store still thinks they will arrive in the new year..i hope not.

Well, it does look like the Nikon USA customers are JUST getting their D3s (like, last week) but I have heard that the Nikon Canada demand is VERY high and not enough supply (hence the paperwork). I'd hate to see you wait until '08 for the D3, but it just might happen... (I really hope not, hate waiting for stuff)

We got ours today through Vistek! I'm sure yours will be along soon!

did nikon ship it directly or did you pick it up from vistek?? i pre-ordered through henry's. congrats!!!

Thanks - we picked it up from Vistek directly, however they only got 1 D3 in, and we were the lucky ones. They are expecting a couple more this week. Obviously, they're still in extremely short supply. any luck yet?

not yet and i think i'm annoying the crap out of henry's. they have received 4 out of the 11 pre-ordered, i'm not sure where i am on the list. i have a shoot this weekend and i guess i'll be using the trusty d200. how are you enjoying the D3??

It's TOTALLY AWESOME! We are so excited about the low-light possibilities now. I never shot at beyond 800 ISO with our D200s.

And full frame! It's gorgeous! The autofocus is lightning fast too. I think I'm in loooove!

Tomorrow is our first paid gig with it. My partner and I are going to be fighting each other for who gets to use it - LOL!

I must say, it's worth the $$$. We've got another on order (there's 2 of us, thus we need 2 of these bad boys) It's going to make for a pretty tight-fisted Christmas, but it feels like its worth it.
