Full Version: My first experiential engagement...

I've always prided myself on my pj work at weddings. But when it came to bridals and engagements, my focus switched to composition. I couldn't figure out how to make those portrait sessions real.

So, I really have to thank Jesh De Rox for his inspiration and talk during Jose Villa's workshop in Mexico.

The approach I took with this couple was so simple yet so effective in getting real love into the images. We simply sat down for a few minutes and had a conversation... a real conversation about how they met and how they feel about each other. You would be amazed at the windows words can open.

And, no Mr. Kantor, this has nothing to do with "advertising imagery".

Jesh is very good at composition. I just don't think he needs to hide his photography skills behind the metaphysical elaboration.

I'm going to regret this... But could you elaborate?

Whenever Jesh posts, you ramble on about advertising imagery and metaphysics. I don't think Jesh has been on here preaching about intangibles or broad philosophical topics. What he's teaching is very practical. It's about opening lines of communication with your client that aid them in opening up.

Communication (verbal and otherwise) is a very real skill, Mr. Luvmachine. I think you'd do well to polish up on those skills.
