I am curious if any of you have some feedback on this 5D deal I am considering doing / buying.

I currently have the 40D and like the way my lenses would work on the 5d.

I am also trying to consider what the new 5d will be going for when it comes out say after Christmas / spring, as compared to this deal.

So lets do this: First of all, the Sigma 30mm/1.4 I will ask $300 which is a darned good price compared to new and can't go lower.

Or For $2000 (30mm and 5d) I will throw in all of this:

1. 5D body, battery, charger, software, usb cable, video cable (basically stuff from the box except the neck strap).

2. 5D grip + extra canon battery (that makes 2 total batteries for you) 3. 4GB CF card.

4. Canon Remote shutter device (wired) for 5D 5. 30/1.4 for your crop body (and as mentioned before, mounts on the 5D with extreme hard vignetting.)

Or all the extra stuff with body above, no 30mm, for $1800.

Or again, body alone with the in-box accressories (battery ,charger, cables, software, etc..) for $1600 + free 4GB CF card.

Body alone for $1600 is a super good deal. The grip is like $200 from what I remember if you will use that, don't know anything about the Sigma lens since I only have Canon lenses right now. If you will not need the other stuff then just buy the camera itself... that's if it's a legit deal. Just my take. Oh, and I love my 5D!

I'll take that deal without 30mm.

great price

Jump on it. You'll love getting back in to that 5D.

I went for it.
I now have the 40D and 5D.
I love my lenses much better on the 5D.

Woo Hoo! CONGRATS Troy! Did you get the lens too?
TroyPhotog
I passed on the Sigma lens. I am looking for a Canon L 24 1.4 or 35 1.4 probably. Troy
