Hope you get a laugh out of this, to make it worthwhile.

So, I started my day off by SLAMMING my thumb in a very heavy and thick sliding closet door on my way to get my 2 year old out of his crib. I didn't make it to him and instead headed to the bathroom sink to run it under cold water as in the midst of the pain that was all I could think to do. After squatting down at the sink, trying to ease the nauseousness (sp?) for a while, I decided I had better just sit down. Next thing I knew, dreams and visions were swirling in my head and I couldn't make my eyes open or my brain realize where I was. This was because some 5 minutes had passed and I was upside down with my head in the tub - passed out! wacko.gif

I phoned my husband at work and asked him to call and check on us time to time to assure this didn't happen again. A two year old running loose is never a good thing.

After this I believe a little bit of shock occurred and I spent the next two hours very dizzy, shaky and nauseous and not making much sense when I spoke. My mother in law spent her luch break with us to help with my son.
I'm feeling much better now (comparitively), but the funny thing is that, after concern for my son, all I could think about was how this was going to effect the wedding I'm shooting on Saturday! Of course this was my dominant hand.
DARN THAT BACK BUTTON FOCUSING!
Even at the sink, I kept thinking "How will I focus, how will I dial?"

The string of bad luck thing is regarding how many "scenes of the crimes" I have ended up right in the middle of lately. It's been really strange how I happen into them or them into me. The most recent was last night; I was at Best Buy purchasing memory for this wedding (Sandisk Extreme III 4GB at $69 each smile.gif and went to get in my car in the parking lot and a fist fight was happening right behind my car! I walked a little ways away and shook my head over what I thought was foolishness, when it actually turned out to be attempted theft. A guy had tried to steal a girl's purse off of her and she was phoning the police as he got in his car and drove away (barely missing my vehicle).

Two weeks ago, a guy hit a car at a crowded intersection and then PEELED through traffic and a red light to get away from the police and headed straight for me. He swerved at the last second, barely missing me and almost tipping his truck. I think they were already chasing him for something else.
4 more incidents in the past year that I can think of as well. It's always when I am alone too. Very strange.

Do you think Austin is far enough away? I don't need any bad luck right now.

May I suggest that you not get up from your computer and just read OSP all day and night? It's safe here!

Wow!

I took a little sliver off my thumb with a big chef's knife the day before Thanksgiving, but didn't end up upside in the bathtub! And it was my LEFT hand, thankfully.

Hope your dangerous escapades are all done for a long, long time.

Wow...I think you've got some really bad Karma. Maybe you need to help an old man across the street or something?? Isn't it strange how this world works?

wow.. That kinda stinks.. coulda been worse though.
It could have been your index finger...
It could have been your purse...
That truck could have hit you...
And THAT would suck!!

Just trying to put it into perspective!

Oh dang! That's not funny at all sad.gif I agree that you should be thankful for your blessings, as Michael pointed out, then go help some people in need to build up your good karma meter biggrin.gif

Just think what *didn't* happen wink.gif

Yes, I wish it was all a dream.
The funny thing is, thinking about Karma, it may have been working in my favor. If I had left the store one minute earlier, it may have been me. If I hadn't let someone go in front of me and stop a second to chat with the cashier about how crowded it was all of the sudden, it may have been me last night.
I always let people go in front of me in while driving as well, especially at that intersection. It's really tough to get out. So maybe someone I was in the right place, although it didn't feel like it at the time.

Nonetheless, I'll be looking for some little old ladies and men to help tomorrow.

The closet door was just a plain stupid accident because I didn't want my son to try to get into all of the stuff in there and him get hurt. So I was doing a good thing. But Dang, that hurt! smile.gif
