Full Version: Album Guidance needed for slip in mat album

I have a bride who prefers a traditional cut mat album where a printed image is slipped into a matted sleeve. She was very specific about it not being a black printed page with an image, but a physical mat.
I have never done one of those before and finally have got a handle on magazine style!

Can anyone shed some light on how it works?
Are there precut mats or are they custom?

How do the prints stay in?

Please share your positive experiences with specific vendors or products and any tips.

There will be a 15 spread wedding album and 3 smaller parent albums.

Hey Jeffrey, I just got one of these through albumsinc.com the Renaissance line. Specifically the Milan style. The album pages are removable and so can be changed in whatever order you want. You buy an album, an insert/page which has of course 2 sides. Then you buy mats to fit the picture or pictures you want per page, they offer many mat configurations. For the prints to stay in I put double sided type mounting squares that scrapbookers use.

Hope that helps.

Great lead! Thanks.

Best,
Jeff

I too use the Renissance Albums, but I use the Library bound albums. To me they are a little nicer than the Milan. You order the album to however many pages you want. Then you order the mats to slide into the pages. The prints are taped down on a backing, with the mat on top. Then you slide the backing and Mat into a slit in the top of the album page. They are nice books. Let me know if you want me to take some pics of my sample album for you to see.

Ok... you are going to make me play with my new S5... twist my arm!
I'll be back in a minute...

YES, I agree, I like those better. Do you sell many of the slip in albums Kari or flush mount? I just have all sorts of questions for you today huh! Thanks for being such a giving person.

Ok, here they are... I put my camera in a couple for size reference. They are big books. I like that, but some might not.

Niiice! Yup, sorta big but it is smaller than the Milan.
