Thanks Mac!
Weddings scare the crap out of me! I think because I've only assisted and not even been a second shooter yet. I'd like to second shoot, just even once to convince myself I can do it, and then go for it. I'd hate to send a bride home crying in her soup because I was too nervous to do anything right!
fair enough. i shot my first wedding at the beginning of october, and the only wedding experience i had before that was second shooting a wedding in september, a week before i was to shoot on my own. i was crazy nervous, had photography nightmares in my sleep and was ready to botch the whole thing up. but the day of shooting was so much fun, i forgot to be nervous. i was so into the challenge of capturing everything that happened, it simply didn't occur to me to be nervous. i'm sure it will be the same for you. second shoot and you'll realize that you kind of do know what you're doing and that you're too good to mess things up. whether or not you actually believe that, at least lie to yourself and repeat that over and over in your head. worked for me, though i still don't actually believe it.
also, i love the expression crying in her soup. never heard it before, and i might have to steal it. not a great way to welcome someone to osp...stealing their stuff, so i'll give you a saying in return: "no use crying over spilled tomato juice. or banana pudding. or something like that."
