VuVox looks interesting - but that's the worst product intro video I've ever seen (and I certainly didn't see all of it).
I just played around with VuVox a bit. It doesn't seem to do much. ProShow gives you a lot more control, though the high-end version is way overpriced.
Yeah, that thing was pretty long - more than 30 minutes, but they do talk over some of the monetizing possiibilities toward the end. The podcast was not put out by VuVox so it wasn't intended to be a professional product intro video. It was a tech/geek posting an interview on his own site. And unless you've gotten in as a private beta tester, you can't use the collage feature which was what the podcast was about. I applied to be a beta tester yesterday, but haven't heard back. You may be able to do some of this stuff with ProShow or something else, I certainly haven't done any research. They point out that you could do all of this if you could handle Flash, but this makes it easy for everybody, I guess.
I agree, the stuff you can use on VuVox right now looks kinda bland, but the collage thing with hotspot pullouts and a linear story-line has potential. As a wedding photographer it might be cool to record some audio of the band playing at the reception (with the camera) or even have the couple come in afterward and record a few audio snippets about some of their friends or special moments and slip them in the collage. Lots of possibilities. Not sure that it would fit in with what I want to portray to my clients but it has potential which I think some folks would be interested in.
Here's the link to the actual
collage that the San Jose guy put together.
