Full Version: New Baby has arrived!
OpenSourcePhoto > YA wanna FIGHT! > Canon and Nikon
Johnny
The baby known as Nikon D300.

I was impressed in the store when I played with it.
Now that I have it home I am even more impressed with it.

Of course, all I have for a lens at this very moment is a LensBaby 2.0 laughing.gif
Images seem a bit soft...

But the body... oh the body is soooo nice.
The VF is wonderful (D2X quality IMO)
She's FAST
Looks cute and feels great in the hand.

And holy cow! THe features... I had no idea it has so much stuff under the hood!

Can't wait for my 17-35 Nikkor to show up this week!

Whoo hooo!
Lucky Red Hen
Seven babies... you sure are busy laughing.gif

Congrats on the new gear!

How does the Higher ISO compare to the D200?

Just got mine too. It's a whole different ballgame. 3200 ISO is cleaner than 640 on the d200. It's sick.

Johnny- Mine is on the way...just called to see when it will arrive.... they say Thursday!!! YEAH!!!
I am a little worried about the softness issue? You're not the first to say that??? is it going to be a problem????

hope all is well man.... when are we gonna hook up?

later,

I think Johnny was referring to shooting with the Lensbaby, that's always soft.

Although I am waiting on some lenses, I totally agree with Shane here. This camera is every bit as smooth as a Canon. That's why I switched back. thumbsup.gif

Just a joke Ben. This CAM is super sharp. I played with the Tamron 90mm Macro today - that thing just sings on the D300!

Just get 'em both! laughing.gif

IF you have a good lot of Nikon glass, and can swing it - go with the D3.
IF you need better lenses, go with the D300 and some fine glass.
