Mariah
Hi all,

I'm very humbly trying to follow in the footsteps of one of my favorite photog's, Amber Holritz. After reading the Rangefinder article, I used some of her tips on my following shoots. Here's what I ended up with:

BTW, this is my first time asking for critiques and I'll have to pour a big martini before I read your responses but don't let that stop you from being completely honest! I really want to do well and know that I need cc to learn and grow so please, let me have it (no one can be as hard on me as I am on myself)!

Thank you in advance for your help...it's really appreciate (my husband can't stand to look at any more of my images wink.gif

Good - but more that are closer and wider - like the two b/w at the bottom.

I think it looks like you did a great job! I love #1, 10, and 11. The only problem is that I can hardly see them! Can my make them a little bigger?

They are small, but I think you're off to a great start!! I love 10 and 11!!

I love the compositions on 2 and 6. Great use of framing the subjects by really taking a look at what's around you.
#2 (me being anal now) it would have been nice to have the mother's ring show to provide stronger story telling but I truly love how everything in the picture leads into the subjects.
#6 I really love the strong lines that frame the couple and make them pop! I am curious what the picture would look like had you gotten more floor and less ceiling.
I like the slight tilt to the picture as well, I think if it was too straight it may just cut the picture in half but I could be wrong.
Great emotion on #11! Nice timing great capture!
This is just me nitpicking here and there but all in all I am sure the family will love the set! And this is all just my personal opinion whatever it's worth smile.gif

Mariah, I think 1, 2, 5, 10 and 11 are excellent!! Especially love the composition of 1 and 10. It's all very good shooting. I'd love to give you more detailed critique, but you know how busy I am. thumbsup.gif

Thanks for the feedback...they are a bit too small..let me try again smile.gif

Thanks Yun for your detailed critique...I LOVE it! I totally agree about the ring but hers was around her neck (finger swelling and all). And, that peek a boo shot may have been a bit cooler with more floor..I'll try that next time.

Okay, here's some bigger ones. Anybody have some time to give me some tips, I'd love it!

Thank you!

Okay, I give up...how do you add those big images w/out making little tiny attachments??
