Micah Bowerbank
I've been digesting the forums for a month now and first of I'd like to thank everyone for all the information, I've learned so much.

I've recently started my own photography business in Brampton, Ontario, Canada (Just outside Toronto). I really want to get into weddings and I have 2 tentative bookings for summer 2008 but I don't have any practical wedding experience.

I was hoping there was an experienced wedding photographer in the Toronto area (GTA or Southern Ontario region) that would be willing to take me under their wing as a free assistant for a wedding – preferably sometime in the next 6 months.

I would work totally free – all I would ask is that I get the opportunity to experience the real thing, learn from a pro and use some of the photos I take to add to my portfolio.

I've been a photographer for 2 years; I think I'm pretty good technically and creatively.

I believe I've got all the equipment I'd need to shoot a wedding.
Canon 40D
Canon 30mm f/1.8
Canon 100mm f/2.8 Macro
Canon 17-40 f/4.0
Sigma 70-300 f/4-5.6
Canon 430ex

Thanks for your input. I would like to add Toronto to the title but I can't figure out how.

This is exactly what I did. Only I ended up here after. I looked for some local photographers whose work I liked and then sent them an email, basically saying what you said here. It worked great for me.

I love your cold series on your website. Very cool. (whoops, pun not intended!)

Thanks for your input. I've PM 2 members who are based in Toronto and I'm anxious awaiting their reply. I think my next step will be to email some other local photographers.

Keep the good tips coming.
