I am, by all known standards, a Phoshop rookie. So, I am not exactly sure what the following sentence means....

This set has cutout areas to place photos in, it does not use image masks for your photos.

I know that there are differnt ways to make layered templates, I just don't quite understand them all. This note is from Neil Creative's website. I am not sure which way the templates I bought work, but if anybody can offer guidance on how I insert images into templates, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!
Candy
Hey Chad, I would use the move tool, drag and drop the photo onto the template. If you want to resize the photo use transform (located under edit) ( be sure to hold down the option key on mac) not sure what option is on pc. Then you can move the layers by just dragging them around to where you'd like! Hope this helps!

Chad,
You should be able to drag and drop the images as Candy explained. If not, try selecting ALL of your photo, copy and paste it into your template. You can always add a layer mask to your photo.

What website did you order your templates from? I'd like to take a look and see if anything on the site sheds some light on your problem.

Scott (&Candy)...thanks for the ideas...the site was http://www.neilcreative.blogspot.com/.

So, I have both images open, click on the layer in the template that the picture goes on, click on the image and drag it over to the template, then use the transform tool to get it sized correctly?

I am so naive on layer masks and how all that stuff works...humph...

Yes, that's correct.

To add a layer mask, use the selection tool to select what you want visible, then click the layer mask and everything else will be hidden. The great thing about masks is you can make adjustments to them by painting with a black or white brush.
