Emily is the daughter of one of my wife's co-workers. She's a very cute girl who you really have to force not to smile. I was trying to get different looks out of her, but as soon as she changed her expression and I clicked the shutter once, she was back to smiling (which really isn't a bad thing...I wish I could be so happy all the time).

What do you think? Be honest, I can take it straight.

i think you did great. i hate it on myself when i dont smile with teeth, so i would find it very stressful if a photographer kept trying and i didnt want to do it. i usually try with my seniors to feel them out and see what they prefer. i try to get things when they are paying attention if they are huge smilers because thats when they arent smiling or maybe thats the time i get there best smile.

I think you did great as well! I really like #5, great mood and processing. I think 2 is a nice image, but there are some weird, hypersaturated pink lines on her face, kind of like it's on the verge of overexposing. Actually, I would love the see that one in b&w.

Thanks for the comments.

#2 is a bit oversaturated. I really need to find a way to get neutral in my editing. Sometimes I'm in that kind of mood, then I'll go back later and not like it as well since it's overdone. Then other times it's the opposite and I leave them flatter and go back later and hate them and go crazy on them.

Here it is in b&w.
