I know this is not photo related, but I don't know where else to post it so here goes.


My husband and I are going on a cruise in a few weeks for his 30th birthday and we are sailing out of Miami Florida. We are planning on staying a few nights in South Beach but are having a hard time choosing a hotel..... so my question is for any of you who have ever been to South Beach...

1. Where did you stay?
2. What was it like?
3. Do you have any recommendations for a fun modern hotel?
4. What do you recomend we do when we get there (we won't have a car).

We are wanting a fun boutique chic hotel that is modern and nice. We are splurging so feel free to tell us of the best place to stay!!! Thanks:)

It's hard to find an uncool hotel on south beach.

There are lots of others, but many are quite small (since they date from the 30s).

I can't afford to stay at any of them, but the Delano seems really nice.

Thanks:) I checked them out and are all gorgeous.. But a little too much for me as well:) I guess the word splurge can mean a lot of different things:) LOL!

Be careful - some of those cool modern hotels are not as they seem. I did a destination wedding in Miami and the B&G booked me at The Kent (www.thekenthotel.com) I gave her the "okay" based on their website, when we got there it was soooo nasty we checked out and paid out of our pockets for the Holiday Inn down the street!

The Bride and Groom stayed at "The Victor" which was cool and right on the beach!

Thanks for the heads up on that one! That's what i'm worried about and hoping that people will give recomendations. We are looking at staying at the Strand... anyone know anything about that?
