So, do you look at adds differently now? Since reading the post by Matt about the stock photography, I have been looking at every billboard, every sign, every add, every magizing, and analizing the stock photography. Every day when I open the internet, the news pops up. There are alway "human intrest" stories, like "How to stay fit for life" or "new study says carrots help memory" with stock pictures of things like... carrots!

So, I have my eyes peeled, and I am looking at these things in a whole new way! How about you?

Ha! I just got some spam from Overnight Prints with a holiday card offer. The "sample card" in the email had a picture of some grandma with little kids and the first thing I thought of was the stock thread. How funny!!!

I used to do that when I was working WAAAAAY too many hours as a graphic designer, too. Everywhere I went, I looked at the fonts and layout of stuff. I'd be at the drive-thru at McD's, wondering what font they used for the McFlurry cups. That's when you know you need a VACATION! smile.gif

Oh man... I do that too. I always look at fonts and wonder what they are, especially if I like them!

I was at the post office yesterday, and I was looking at a poster they had to promote their "click and ship". It was a woman on a couch with a laptop... I was thinking stock.... (Although I new it wasn't true stock, because it had a priority mail box on the couch too. So, you know they spacifically took that one for the ad.)

I always love it when you you see the same piece of stock all over the place for like 6 months. A few years ago, I worked in the credit union industry and there was a photo of a middle aged woman in a business suit talking on a cell phone that was ubiquitous.

It's really funny when competing companies have the same art in their ad!
