I have just started using Lightroom. Previously I have used Bridge. In Bridge I am able to batch actions, is this possible in Lightroom?

in LR, actions are called presets and can't do ALL of the same stuff as actions in PS but some of it - whatever effect you want, if you can do it in LR, you can save it as a preset and "batch" it.

Yeah, I have figured out the LR preset batching, but from Bridge I can select 10 images or so and tell it to run a PS action on all 10. Is that possible in LR?
yes, select the 10 pix in LR thumbnails. Click the preset on the first one. Then press sync, sync all the appropriate settings and click synchronize. In a matter of seconds, they're all sync'd.
A single preset can apply any number of settings to an image or you can apply a number of different presets separately. To "batch" them, you select the other images you want those settings to apply to and "Synchronize" them.

Matt, I think he is referring to the ability to run Image Processor from Bridge and actually apply PShop actions to the images. What you describe above is available in ACR though, not in Bridge.
[tangent]As far as I can tell, Adobe has not fixed the issue of the ACR presets not showing up when right-clicking a thumbnail in Bride.[/tangent]
best of my knowledge it's not possible to "batch actions" in LR.
