Full Version: Automatic Adjustment Presets for Lightroom

Hey all.

Just wanted to mention I've come up with some automatic image adjustment presets for Adobe Lightroom that utilize functionality not actually built into the Lightroom interface. They're brightness/exposure/contrast adjustments and I'm making them freely available at my blog at http://mgmphoto.blogsavy.com/2007/11/09/au...dobe-lightroom/

I hope you find them helpful!

Regards,
Michael

I just mean there's a button to click for AutoTone and you can select Auto White Balance, but there's nothing in the Develop panels for auto brightness, contrast, exposure, or shadows for you to click. Yet, these "auto adjustments" can be scripted and accessed through presets. I'll be darned if I can figure out why Adobe doesn't make this functionality available through the interface. Now, if you've seen it in the interface and I'm just missing it, please let me know!

I downloaded them and LOVE the auto exposure setting...something quick and easy to give me a starting point for where the photo should be. I am not a fan of Auto Brightness. Nothing seems to happen with Auto Contrast nor with Auto Shadows. Do you see anything happen with these?

I've found that Auto Shadows is particularly subtle and sometimes its effects can only be seen after applying the preset (its general effect is to bring out more details in shadow areas). It really depends on the image whether you'll see much of an effect; but I've definitely noticed *all* of them have *some* effect. It really varies a lot for me which one has the greatest or best effects depending on lighting, the camera I used, and so on. I'm glad you're getting some use out of them!...:-)
