My EZ Burn action has gone haywire which means my sanity has gone to pot!! I knew I was in love with it, but didn't realize that I have (apparently) made this action a staple in my workflow - because now that I can't use it, I'm lost! blink.gif

I've obviously done something to my computer, and either changed a setting/default, etc. but my once functioning EZ burn no longer works properly. It used to burn the edges and I would change opacity to my liking. The layers section would show the action as a box w/a dark black oval. Now - instead, the action descriptive box (in layers) is a hazy gray box with light black on the whole box (no longer an oval). As far as the picture goes, when I play the action, it burns the whole picture (no longer just the edges) and it makes the picture cloudy. (Granted, I know that the layers box is duplicating what the picture looks like, but I'm trying to describe as much as possible so that someone might understand what I'm experiencing)

I didn't "do" anything on purpose (i.e. go into my settings to change anything), so the only thing I can think of is that I accidentally changed something by key stroke or the like.

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can recover this action back to its original settings? ~~~ Pretty please? (hee hee)

assuming you didn't delete the actionset or make other changes you want to save, delete it from photoshop and then reload it. Or reload it and then delete it if you want to see it there a second time before deleting. it should work on reload.

Okay, silly question, but since I've never had a need to reload.... are you meaning that I should reload the entire TRA set or is there a way to just choose one particular action to reload? Thanks so much Matt!!!
MattA
i'd just reload the set.

Thank you Matt - I appreciate the help. Unfortunately, reloading did not help. Grrrr. I need to figure out if there is a default setting that I can restore, or what the heck I did to make this happen! sad.gif

wait - reloading didn't help? do you regularly *save* actions? if not, are you reloading the original or using the old one? if you didn't *save* it, it should work on reload - that would reload all settings. Are you using the action on a small image instead of a full sized one?

I had this happen to me too. I realized I was not on the original layer when playing the action. After figuring this out, it works fine now....

Thank you - yes, I have definately had that happen to me too! I think I discovered my problem, so thank you for your guys' help!

I imported this batch of pics from LR as Tiff files (I usually do jpg). I realized (although I don't know why) that my TRA (all of them) were acting haywire on this batch of Tiff files only but when I tried them out on my other files, the TRA worked just fine. So.... I deleted the batch, imported again, this time not as a Tiff and all the TRA work fine now - including my beloved EZ Burn.

I didn't even think anything of the way I imported it, but I never work with Tiff files and didn't even blink an eye to it and was puzzled when my actions wouldn't work properly.

So... I finished up my proofs and everything went smoothy, so hopefully this solves it. Thanks guys.
