Ok I am looking for good deals and reliable CF cards cause we are buying them ahead of time> Jen and I are upgrading to the new D300 cameras in November and I found 2 deals. One is for Transcends 8gb CF card 133x for 59.99 on
Newegg.com, and on
Amazon they have right now SanDisk ultraII 4gb CF cards for 52.99 and free shipping> Does anyone have or use Trandscend products and are these worth getting?

Never heard of them. I swear by SanDisk! Having an 8 GB card would make me a little nervous just in case something happened to it while you were shooting.

I shot with one guy that shoots with Transcend in his D2X, he didn't say he had any problems with them. Will you be shooting Raw of jpg? 8 gb seems like a lot for jpg. I really like my Kingston 133x cards.I shot with one guy that shoots with Transcend in his D2X, he didn't say he had any problems with them. I've shot transcend SD and CF, no problems with either. Also if you have any pny cards most of them are Transcend re-branded. The 133 feels a bit slower than an Extreme III but i haven't done any real testing. The 233x cards are absolutely blazing though (again very unscientific testing was done).

I shoot mainly on 8GB Transcend cards and love them - no problems at all (D200 looking to upgrade to the D3).
Thanks for posting this!

I have a variety of off-brand cards and have had no problems. I have Transcend amongst them. My only failure was a Fujifilm card.
