Ok, this is a little vague, as I just received a VM from someone who says that I have spoken with her boss about doing "photos" for a school conference. I don't remember talking with this guy, unless it was casually at a wedding I was shooting. So, without knowing exactly what they want, I want to have a range of prices for different services for when I call her back. Here's is what I am thinking:
-What do you all charge for just wandering around a conference and taking shots (mostly candids, etc, like they did at PartnerCon)?
-What do you charge for setting up a portrait "station", like it was a prom, etc.

I really hope someone can help me with this. wacko.gif

I charge $250/hr for corporate work and then if someone wants a 'portait station' i usually outsource that which my asst does for like $150 for a few hours (3-4) or something. But he usually brings all of his stuff and sets it up and everything since I have it but he has a lot better backdrops and knows that type of style a little bit better than me.
Hope that helps.

Schools are tough -- they typically don't have the $ that a corporation does. (But, some schools do...check the zip code that the school is in...if the houses are expensive, then the school probably can afford more than if the house are cheap.)

Prom packages are typically a set fee and most often I avoid these -- too much hassle. When I've done prom / dance photos in the past, it's usually been for another studio. But, a good starting point is to ask what they've done / how much they've paid in the past. Many schools expect a little payola...a kick back to the school in the form of a commission or donation from the photographer.

I know this isn't really solid advice (in the form of "you should charge THIS...", etc.), but I hope it helps.
