Black socks and dress shoes sitting in the grass is weird though. I have to say I get slightly annoyed when dads go out for a park-based photo shoot wearing khakis and dressy shoes. Get out the jeans and sneakers, dad!

The khakis and dressy shoes don't bother me, but the position of his leg accentuates it and would have worked better with his knee down. The kids' pictures don't have any light in their eyes -- they look a bit sunken.

A little fill flash or a reflector would have made them perfect. They're good the way they are, but some sparkle in their eyes would have been better.

As a side note, I did have my flash on when shooting the kids, but I had cranked it all the way down in an effort to just barelly 'fill' the shadows. I was wanting to keep the look of ambient lighting an 'natural' as possible. But keeping in mind your comment of the sunkken shadows, perhaps i should try kicking up the fill flash a few notches...... ...... again, thanks for the honest input!
